4 doctor and 2 hospital visits later

Yup.. that is right.. 4 doctor visits and 2 hospital x-ray visits I'm am diagnosed with a sprain. Yes.. that is right.. no fracture. In a way its kind of a relief that i don't have to be in a cast but still i don't know how long it will take to completely heal. I am healing up pretty well. I'm able to now walk on my feet, but I still have this limp. Maybe i'll be able to play soccer again in two weeks if it heals 100%. Though i've seen the doctor so many times i still have another doctor visit to see the results of my TB skin test. My dad is still in the hospital and I'm going to go visit him today. The doctors still hasn't diagnosed his illness; hopefully it'll be soon.

Another Injury To My Ever Increasing Injury History

So.. a double wammy. My dad went to the hospital today to get his liver checked out. This week the doctor used ultra sound and found something odd with his liver and he has been constantly weak. The other thing that happened today was a sprained ankle. I'm still not sure about how bad it is but it seem to hurt more than my broken collar bone. I was climbing at ARC climbing gym. It was me and Hiroko's first day of getting our gym membership and our first weekly climb together. I was doing a dyno problem which I've suck before but couldn't remember where my foot went. After throwing for the dyno i came flying back to the ground like I always do. However this time its different because I don't completely land on the pad. That, however was not the problem at all. The problem was that front of my left foot landed on the pad and I rolled it really bad.. I fell from 15 feet bad. So ... now my feet looks like it has a tumor growing out of it and it hurts. I went to the heath center and they sent me to go get an X-ray. I have another appointment for tomorrow to review the x-ray to see how bad it really is. I hope its not to bad, but either way i feel like its going to be at least a month or two or no climbing and at least a year to fully recoup. Well there are reason why these things happen.. and when i'm well again.. i'm going climbing.

Death Valley Paradise

I would have to say this is the best trip I've had this year and the best trip i've had in a long long time. Reason? Great place + Great people = Great Adventures. This weekend was one adventure after another. We got to do so many things. Jumping off desert dunes, bombing down craters, exploring cayons, summiting mountains, jumping in the pools wihtout swim clothes, and getting a flat tire are just a few things that happend this trip. We had a great time getting to know one another around the campfire and just understanding each other a bit more. We were able to see God's beauty in all of his creation, even in the desert. This trip was also the chillest trip I've ever been on. We just went with the flow and I never felt the pressure of time. Well here are some pictures. Hope you enjoy them...

Death Valley Here We Come

I'm so excited... finally I get some time to get out into the wilderness. I've been waiting for this 4 day weekend. This is the first real big trip of this semester that I planned. I'm going to be taking a group of 14 or so out to Death Valley, CA. I've been there once when i was younger and my memories of the place was pretty awesome. Though it was really hot that summer we went the the desert of death was so serene and peaceful. This weekend however won't be as hot since its almost dead winter. Instead we will be graced with a nice 78 degree average. The nights will be mostly clear so we'll be able to enjoy the stars. I'm also excited because Hiroko is coming. After weeks of asking her to come we finally worked it out. She is coming up with me but leaving earlier with Shino. She has to be back because she has lots of work she needs to get finished for school. I'm also excited to meet the new people that are coming along with us on this trip, its nice to meet people who love the outdoors as well. There was so much planning that went into this trip and there were also lots of hurdles to get pass planning this trip, but it seems things are coming together just fine. A reporter from the school paper is coming out tomorrow to see us off and take some quotes. Well I promise I'll take lots of pictures.. and i'll post it up when i get back.

A Stroke of Brilliance

So.. last week, I believe during friday. I wanted something to drink. I found a 6-pack of coke on our office table that is room temperature. Of course it being room temperature I wanted it cold. So.... what is the quickest way to cool something down? Well duh.. put it in the freezer. (keep in mind i don't have ice). So i grab the six pack and threw it into the freezer. This is where my brilliance pops its little head. After throwing the soda in the freezer I went to the Cougar's den to grab my lunch, of course when i come back i totally forget about it. The weekend passes and today I open the freezer looking for Ice Cream. You can imagine what i discovered. Well you don't have to imagine .. there are pictures right here. I know i know.. i'm a genius.

Our Strive to be Artists

Tonight I'm going to be up for a long time and so will will one of my roommates. "Why?", you ask. because we strive to become artist. We are taking an intro to art class together. The professor expects lots from us. We are working on many drawing that are due tomorrow morning. We did many of it before but we have to go through it and make sure its perfect so we can get a good grade. Here are some of our works so far. I'm putting up a Cup of Latte that i drew and I'm also putting up a tornatdo in paradise Aaron drew. Hope ya'll like it. Maybe one day art will become easier for us.

I finally understand the patients required for a wonderful masterpiece. I have this friend named Karyn. She is such a good artist. She tells me that she finds her peace, and getaway in art. She is currently working on her portfolio for grad school. I really wish sometimes i can just see the world through her eyes. I'm so sure that things will look so different. She has also been helping me.. teaching me some techniques and things to pay attention too. I really appreciate it.

Last minute

I always seem to do things last minute. School work, Work work, and life in general. I just have this knack for putting it off until it must be done. I kind of don't like it, but when i trying doing it earlier I am unable to focus. Though I seem to produce pretty good work under the pressure of the approaching due date, I really wish I can get things done earlier. I feel that if I can get things done earlier it might be even better.

On another subject.
I was talking to a friend today and we came on the subject of Lawrence Kao. We discussed how he is very different from who he use to be. Why did Lawrence leave the church? He feels that it might be because he was offended by someone or that he was disgusted by the hypocrites in the church. We both don't know the answer. However, I feel that it is our fault in a way that Lawrence fell away. Not because some people in the church are hypocrites though that is partially why, but because we didn't do our best to talk to him and pray for him. I'm thinking i should give him a call sometime and just talk to him and see how he is doing. Not with the purpose to get him back to church, but just to let him know that we do care about him. I'll let God handle his heart.

A lesson from Dr. Patch

Tonight I watched the movie Patch Adams. Its about this doctor who breaks conformity. In a world where doctors are suppose to keep their distance with their patients, Patch chooses to build friendships and make the patients smile. I believe that in our lives we often forget our dreams and purpose. We conform to this world, thinking that getting good grades, graduating #1, and getting paid well is the most important things in life. I wish everyone can see that it simply isn't true. We should live our lives enjoying every moment of happiness and sadness. We should do our best to contribute to the society around us to make it a better place. Give hope and smiles to people around us.

Lord,
Please give me the heart to pursue life fully and enjoying life's wonders that you've created. Give me the heart to glorify you through my life. Let me bring joy and hope to people around me. Teach me to love others the way you love them.
In your Son's name,
amen

Yay LOST is back!

I'm really excited that LOST is back. Currently there is only one show I keep up with and it's LOST. The episode today had so many commercials it was driving me crazy, but I forgive them. Though I keep up with the show I doubt I'm going to be watching it on TV. Most likely I'm going to keep up with it on ABC's Free Episode players because I don't want to feel obligated to watch it. Hmm
Well, today I also spent lots of time working on this web page.. too much time as a matter of fact. I'm gong to cut back time on this.. or maybe i will cut back time on this.. but either way.. I'll focus more energy on other things.. though i'm going to diverge more time to other aspects of my life, let me tell you about what i added today. I added an outdoor adventure part. It has upcoming events and rental form.

What is Love?

Just now I was talking to one of my friends. She told me that she just broke up with her BF and he is the first guy she had ever loved. Loved.. That got me thinking. What is Love. I feel that the word love is so over used nowadays that it has lost its meaning. A couple in love can get married and then get divorced in a matter of a few years, if even that. I feel that when people say love nowadays it means that they like them now. I tell Hiroko that I love her, but what does that mean? Does it mean a strong attraction i have for her? or a willingness to give up my life for her if it comes down to it? After much thinking and pondering I came up with my own definition of love. I believe in a BF/GF and Married relationship, in fact in all relationships, Love mean the willingness to commit through thick and thin. Its not just a feeling, it is a pledge to give your absolute all to make it work. Though sometimes it just doesn't work, I believe love can pull through.

4Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. 5It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. 6Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. 7It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. 8Love never fails...

Relaxin' at Communiversity

"Wake up! You have too! There might be a quiz. You made a commitment to wake up," these were the words that i kept telling my self 6:30 in the morning while I was trying to get up. I can hear my roommate shuffling around getting ready for his before dawn job. After a few minutes of self debate I finally convinced myself to get up. See the thing is, I have a class at a ridiculous time of 7:00am. Why would I ever choose the class at this time? Well, its not like i had a choice.. it was a required class and there was only one class that was offered. I got ready.. biked to school sat there and just kinda day dreamed about becoming a Dreamweaver expert. Like a blurring the train the class finished and I got on my trusy bike and road to Hiroko's .. went to sleep. Woke up.. then spend my day in communiversity relaxin' working on my web page.. had lunch with Hiroko.. good day..

Just Another Monday

Today was just another monday... going to class and working at communiversity. The only difference is today I ditched Micro because i just really didn't want to go. Instead i spent my time standing in line at the bank and post office. After that I got some free lunch coupons for AIM and then.. just did some work. The most exciting thing that happened today so far was going to the bike shop with Aaron. Got a new computer for my bike.

A Date With Hiroko

Wished i took pictures but oh well.
So today after church I went to so many different places. Hiroko's birthday was this last friday so we planned that we'd go out today. We really had no idea where we wanted to go but we just wanted to go somewhere. Wait... we did have an idea. We wanted to go "build a bear" that we can call our bear instead of just "her" bear. We got to downtown disney and strolled down to the local "build a bear". We stuffed curlly teddy with filling and named him "Pi Chan" after a squirrel we named. After that we worked our way to The BLOCK .. we walked around did some window shopping and then was off again heading towards the beach this time. Hiroko wanted to go to a beach but she didn't know which beach, so i just drop south.. We ended up at newport. We took the ferry from Balboa beach to Balboa Island to end our date. We rushed back, because my brother planned a bday dinner for me and hiroko. We got to Chili's around 7pm and had dinner with my bro and some church friends... all in all.. Today was good.. had fun.. and got to spend time with my hiroko.

Climbing Night @ the ARC

So today was the fun day of the week why? well other than because its Hiroko's Birthday and we are about to have a surprise party for her, today is a fun day because of the Climbing Event at ARC. This is the second time APU and ARC hosted a APU Girl Free Climbing Night. The turn out for today was huge.. the gym was packed. Some of the locals were confused on where all these people came from. Shino and Jordy was suppose to come as well but they didn't end up coming because they had to stay at APU for the showing of a "fair trade" movie/documentary, and by the time they got out of it the gym was closing. Another surprise today is Lesley came to climb. For one reason or another she told me on thursday that she wasn't coming but today she showed up. Well, I'm just happy that everyone had fun.

My Re-application

So, Jordy... Hope you like this re-application. I tried to do soemthing a bit creative. If your not Jordy or shino.. or other communiversty interview people .. you can just skip this section..

Question #1
What did you learn this year?
One of the most useful things I've learned this year is the need to plan ahead. Things from planning what things to bring, reservation of vans and camp site, making advertisement. Those aspect of organizing an event requires planning way in advance so that everything can flow smoothly and if there is an problem I will have time to fix it or come up with an alternative solution. However what I found the most interesting to learn is the rules and regulations of the school, and the processes that are needed to get certain things done. I always thought that we can do whatever we want for events, but now I see that the university is like a huge organism and each part of the organism must work in unity. I also liked learning about it because i love to try to make things more efficient and trying to work around the rules.

Question #2
Why do you want to return to Communiversity?
I want to return because I feel that I have much more to offer and provide for Azusa Pacific's Outdoor Adventure Program. I also feel the need to see the outdoor adventure to the next year so that it wouldn't have to start all over again. I want the Outdoor Program to be able to rival Point Loma's one day and the only way to do it is to be dedicated to it, so I want to do my best to help it grow. I also really enjoy just being able to show others God's beauty that I see in nature and the peace and Joy I find when surounded by his creation.

Question #3
What are you hoping to learn during your 2nd year?
I really am hoping to learn how to effectivly plan a backpacking trip and a backpacking trip at the walkabout scale. I want to learn all the logistics and planning needed to pull it off. Other than that, however, I really would like to just learn whatever i can learn. God will teach me new things and as long as I have the miind set willing to learn I will learn thing that will help me with planning, life, and everything else.

Here are some pictures to remind you of this last year.. so that you'll feel happy and glad and want to me back.
